Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: September 13, 2026

This service is not for emergencies. If your child turns blue, has severe difficulty breathing, loses consciousness, or refuses to feed altogether and is lethargic, call an ambulance on 123 or go immediately to the nearest emergency department.

The advisory nature of the service

What you receive through Ekshef is a written consultant's opinion, built on the reports and information you upload yourself. It is a professional reading of what is written in the report, and guidance on the next step.

The opinion is not a final diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a prescription. Examining the child clinically, reviewing the original images and recordings, and follow-up by the treating team are all things that cannot be replaced from a distance.

The final decision

The final decision on your child's diagnosis and treatment, and on the timing of any surgical intervention, rests with the medical team that examines and follows the child directly. Use the written opinion as something that helps you understand the condition and ask the right questions, not as a substitute for that team.

Do not stop a medication, change a dose, or put off a surgical appointment on the strength of the online consultation alone.

What the service does not include

  • Prescribing medication or writing prescriptions.
  • Issuing official medical reports or certificates.
  • Reading the original echocardiogram or radiology images and recordings, since we work from the written report and the images you upload.
  • Following critical or emergency cases.

Emergencies

This service is not for emergencies. If your child turns blue, has severe difficulty breathing, loses consciousness, or refuses to feed altogether and is lethargic, call an ambulance on 123 or go immediately to the nearest emergency department.

Do not wait for a reply to an online consultation in these situations, and do not take a slow reply as a sign that the case is not urgent.

The limits of what can be built on what you attach

A written opinion is never more precise than what you attach. If the report is old or unclear, or the information is incomplete, the opinion is limited accordingly, and we say so plainly in the reply.

If no useful opinion can be given on what is available, we ask you to complete it, or we apologize and refund the full amount.

The legal framework

The practice of medicine in Egypt is governed by the Medical Liability and Patient Protection Law No. 13 of 2025. This page takes nothing away from any right that law gives you, and is not to be read as a waiver of it.
